My name is Mitchie de Ruiter, and I am an enthusiastic digital artist from the Netherlands. I have always been a storyteller. From a young age, I would draft up worlds, characters, and tales, and have continued to do so well into adulthood. Within

Through this enjoyment of storytelling, I have finished my bachelor's in Animated & Illustrated Storytelling at St. Joost (Breda, The Netherlands). I am currently studying a Master of Animation.

Every production is an adventure. I view the field of animation as a lively tavern,  brimming with ideas - a space where creativity flourishes within a supportive community. I’d see myself sitting at a bustling tavern table, immersing myself in the recounting of heroes' journeys and stories, whether it involves deepening connections with seasoned heroes or speaking with aspiring adventurers planning their next quest. I want to inspire others to adventure in their projects.

I enjoy exploring different characters and their innerworkings in my work. Lots of my inspiration is drawn from (medieval) fantasy, folklore, psychology, the strange and the mysterious. I like making sense of world around me in my art. My work is bright and eye catching, but I do not steer away from stories I feel need to be told.

My main interest lay in visual development work and project management, but I like to see myself as a creative jack-of-all-trades. I feel like every angle of a creative production tells some type of story, and I enjoy exploring those. I work best in a group of creative individuals, as I enjoy bouncing ideas around and they motivate me to see new angles I hadn't considered before.
