Made in collaboration with Frederique Verhoeven and music by Lydia the Bard
The Devil 'fore the Fall music video was a project commissioned by singer and songwriter Lydia the Bard for one of her original songs. It highlights charismatic abusers, portrayed as a not-yet fallen Lucifer, who tries to take advantage of Eve's kindness, nearly turning her to stone.
With a quick turnaround time and limited budget, my collaborator Frederique Verhoeven and I focused on using limited animation, puppetry, and symbolic visuals to support the lyrics of Devil 'fore the Fall. We've got to collaborate closely with the artist to decide upon the visuals, character designs and story from scratch. These characters went on to be used in future music video projects for Lydia.
