Story Factory: Setting
   Educational Children's Animation 2021

Prizewinner Best Educational Animation Story Factory 2021 - Dutch Insititute of Sound and Vision

Created by Mitchie de Ruiter & Frederique Verhoeven

An animation made in commission by the Dutch Institute for Sound and Vision. In this animation we strived to educate children on the influence of color and lighting to set a mood and playfully inform them about ways media could be manipulated.

For this animation, we worked in a short turnaround time and a short target length of the animation in close contact with the Dutch Institute of Sound and Vision. To communicate concepts clearly and playfully, we worked on creating some simple, child-like cut-out characters to be the main stars of our animation. We strived to make our workflow quick by employing a rigged puppet animation style, moving illustrations, and 3D modelling to display lighting effects. I got to do the voice work for this project. It was selected by the Institute of Sound and Vision as their winner amongst the projects and went on to be used in educating children visiting their Institute in their media literacy classes.
